Speaker – Chris Bellamy
Partner, Fisher Phillips
Chris Bellamy draws on his experience as a former senior in-house counsel, seasoned litigator, and former prosecutor to help employers, companies, and business leaders navigate corporate criminal investigations, white-collar defense matters, government and regulatory scrutiny, and other high-stakes disputes. He represents clients in state and federal civil and criminal matters and advises them when litigation, compliance, crisis response, and business operations intersect.
Chris conducts and manages sensitive internal investigations involving suspected misconduct, compliance concerns, workplace incidents, and matters that may create civil and potential criminal exposure. When an issue unfolds on parallel tracks, he helps clients develop a coordinated response that accounts for the underlying investigation, related litigation, executive risk, regulatory obligations, and the practical impact on the organization.
His broader litigation experience includes employment and commercial disputes, securities and derivative actions, contract claims, class actions, personal injury and general tort matters, and matters involving MSHA and other regulatory agencies or requirements. Having managed litigation and global data privacy responsibilities from inside a major energy company, Chris understands the pressures facing legal, operational, and leadership teams and provides advice designed to be practical and workable in real time.
Before joining Fisher Phillips, Chris served as Head of Litigation and Senior Counsel for U.S. litigation and global data privacy at an international energy company, where he managed a broad litigation portfolio and led compliance checks, crisis response, and accident and fatality investigations. Earlier in private practice, he handled white-collar criminal defense, complex civil and parallel civil-criminal matters, internal corporate investigations, and corporate executive risk and compliance issues. He also worked as an Assistant District Attorney and Assistant General Counsel for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance and taught as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University Law School. Chris served for more than a decade in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he led missions in support of national defense, drug interdiction, and search-and-rescue, both at home and abroad.
