Matt Roper

Matthew J. Roper, AIMU, CPCU, marine practice leader, One80 Intermediaries, has worked in the insurance industry for more than 15 years. His career began as an inland marine underwriter at Acadia Insurance in Syracuse, focusing on transportation and builders’ risk but soon found his niche underwriting marinas and boat dealers. In 2012, he relocated to New York City as a senior underwriter for the Chubb Insurance Group to work in their Recreational Marine Facilities program and in 2014, was recognized by Chubb as a U.S. Field Sales Circle of Excellence Honoree. Matt joined Maritime Program Group (MPG), who has been writing marina insurance since 1992, in 2017 to run their Recreational Marine Facilities program and brokerage divisions and even earned the Marina Dock Age’s Young Leader Award in 2020. In March 2022, Matt was promoted to marine practice leader in One80 Intermediaries, which includes all marine-related products.
