Amanda Funk
Owner, Compass Maritime Group

Amanda Funk is an experienced maritime professional with more than 20 years of expertise in the industry. Specializing in maritime retail, manufacturing, boat building, marine electronics and distribution, Amanda’s extensive knowledge and passion for the sea have made her a trusted figure in the maritime community, where she continues to contribute her skills and insights to enhance the boating experience for others.

As a fourth-generation mariner, Amanda began boating at a young age on the South River of the Chesapeake Bay. She started as a cashier at Boater’s World more than 20 years ago and recently spent six years as a sales manager for Garmin International. She thoroughly understands the technical and operational aspects of maritime activities.

Growing up as a part-time live-aboard, Amanda has made a hobby of crabbing and fishing. She tied a record for the largest Blue Crab caught on the South River and offshore fished in exotic locations such as Guatemala and Cabo San Lucas. Her goal is to fish the world, crossing pelagic species off her bucket list.

Combining an educational background in business management and industry experience, Amanda has launched Compass Maritime Group as a service for marinas and marine businesses. Compass Maritime Group offers workforce development and business development solutions for all size marine businesses.
